Music

Several musical projects have had the dubious pleasure of my vocal stylings. I've sung in a few different bands in London, spanning genres all the way from electric indie rock to acoustic indie rock. I've also sung in the chorus of two professional operas, and am a sometime member of a classical choir based in South London.

Here's a selection of recordings and videos, for your delectation and universal dismissal.

Rescue Act: A demo from my first London band, Paolo. You can almost smell the late nineties.

Hombre: Demo from my second band, Cardinale. Acoustic-y goodness.

Puny Earthlings: More Cardinale. A bit country, a bit western.

Dido's Lament: From a short recital with the choir. I'm singing bass. I should point out I am the ONLY person singing bass.

West End Girls: Country and Western version

The House of the Rising Sun: An acapella version.

Open Skies: Short post-jet age fiction read over the instrumental track Berceuse by Leo Brouwer, played by Robert Popper (used without permission, I hope that's OK...).

Bachelorette: Yes, suicidally covering Bjork. Music by the Vitamin String Quartet, used without permission. Again. I took a couple of lyrical liberties, me being a boy and not speaking Icelandic.

Puttin' (the frighteners) On The Ritz: Had this idea for covering a jolly song and making it as sinister as possible.

I Want You: Acapella version of the Elvis Costello song.
